1 Overview of Manuskript Settings

This guide aims to present a basic overview of Manuskript's settings. While it does not go into explicit detail about each feature, it instead tries to present a comprehensive list of all Manuskript has to offer.

General

Application settings

The user can select the Style, Language, and Font size.

Loading

The user can select or deselect "Automatically load last project on startup".

Saving

The user can select or deselect:

  1. Automatically save every X minutes.
  2. If no changes during X seconds.
  3. Save on quit
  4. Save to one single file

Revisions

Here the user has the options to decide to keep revisions, and whether to implement smart remove.

Smart remove has the following choices:

  1. Keep X revisions per minute for the last 10 minutes
  2. Keep X revisions per 10 minutes for the last hour
  3. Keep X revisions per hour for the last day
  4. Keep X revisions per day for the last month
  5. Keep X revisions per week till the end of time

Views

Please note, many of these functions can also be changed in the Menu under "View".

Labels

Here the user can create, delete, and choose the color of Labels. Manuskript comes with five Labels by default:

  1. Idea
  2. Note
  3. Chapter
  4. Scene
  5. Research

Status

Here the user can create and delete Statuses. Manuskript comes with four Statuses by default:

  1. TODO
  2. First draft
  3. Second draft
  4. Final

Fullscreen

Manuskript comes with four different fullscreen themes by default:

  1. Gentle Blues
  2. oldschool
  3. spacedreams
  4. writingdesk

These themes cannot be edited or deleted.

At the bottom of the screen are three buttons: New, Edit, and Delete. These allow the user to create new fullscreen themes, edit their settings, and delete them.

When editing personal fullscreen themes, the user can set the Window Background, Text Background, Text Options, and Paragraph Options.
